It is really important to us that you as a tutor get a fair payment for your time and effort creating and running your course. We want you to know how appreciated you are, and we want the students to value not only your work, time, effort and skills, but also to learn to value their own.
So often in the creative industry we get the ’it’s just a hobby’ mentality. Somewhere along the way items have gone from being seen as highly skilled handmade unique artisan pieces, to being perceived as a cheap cop out.
We really want to claw back the sanity on this one and teach everyone that the years spent honing your craft are well spent. That your time, skill and effort should both be appreciated and rewarded, and your creations seen for what they are - works of art.
Because of this, pricing is very important to us. We are not looking for any course which would be priced at under £20. In fact, the research that we did before launching Craftucation showed that most people, for a basic course, would be willing to spend around £40, and that for one offering all the things that we offer here at Craftucation, with all the extra written information, with the ability to get tutor feedback, and with access to related forums, then many said they would rate it at over £100 worth of value. Do not undersell yourself.
If you are unsure what to charge then feel free to ask us, or speak to the other tutors in the tutor forum.
